Leo in Bloom Magazine

Dear Friends,

It is finally time for another Leo in Bloom issue! The theme this time is travel. Travel in space and time and self and ideas. Travel in practical terms, and in abstraction. Travel toward something. Travel as escape. And travel as reckoning.

It has been a challenge for many of us to travel in the conventional sense. Our bodies are so unpredictable and sensitive, and travel is full of  uncertainties and stresses and changes. Yet many of us love to travel, and many more dream of it. It is a captivating experience to see the landscapes flash by and to emerge somewhere different. It is invigorating to absorb the aura of a new place, to revisit familiar places and see what time has brought to both your vision and the place, to witness life in other contexts. It is an experience we cherish all the more for our challenges in getting there.

For those who must imagine these feelings only, and for whom physical journeys might never be a reality, the sadness of missing out on these experiences is potent. Yet it is only part of how unrealized dreams reside in hearts. There is a lot of beauty still in unrealized dreams. They are full of wonder and color and glorious escape. So much of the art we admire in the world is the expression of dreams that will never be reality.

And for the more abstract kinds of travel, we are transported to realms that move us somehow. Memories and self-exploration and musings about this universe… these are travel, too.
