August Review!

Dear Friends,

Wow, that was a jam-packed issue! I was so delighted by the many contributions from Spellers and also some allies! And I so enjoyed reading the unique yet similar accounts of blooming into communication – we are so a garden of beautiful flowers!

I hope that you have seen something among these pieces that truly resonates with you, and have an even deeper appreciation for how monumental that first experience of open communication is. I hope that you feel even more strongly that this is a human rights issue – the joy we felt at gaining communication access came after years of silent struggle. And our struggles do not end with communication, but communication helps us lead fulfilling lives despite our challenges.

I am so touched by the stories of my peers, and I am so touched by your following along and reading them. Time for a break in Leo in Bloom while we prepare for October’s issue!
